SemperFi-Honor here with a quick message.
Did you have an account on this website? Well you don’t anymore. Why? Well, the new EU privacy law changes a lot of things and as a result, everyone who collects data must be able to present it on a platter at any given time when asked to show what data we collect. Team Semper Fi, in fact, does not collect data, at least that’s not how we see it. But.. the law does see it that way. Like this post I am writing here right now, this is data. Your forum posts, your IP address (yes we can see that) your e-mail you used to register and whatever you do on this website, we need to be able to show to the EU what we keep track off. If we can’t show it and it appears we keep track of more (even without us knowing) we can be fined big time. We understand the law and regulations, but for people who are not great at maintaining websites, who keep a simplistic administration of user data on a spreadsheet at most, this new law stuff can be rough.
As a result, we took the safe route and we deleted everything.
So, what do we collect?
Well, to use the forum for ban appeals you need to register. The registrations now get approved manually meaning that we now know who registers and who doesn’t. To register we only ask for a username, e-mail and password. Your city/country is voluntarily (we don’t know how to change the template lol). Other ‘data’ (apparently) we collect is your posts/comments on articles on the website or forum. That’s about it, that is all we do. Anything else is done voluntarily or will be destroyed quickly by the admins. We have no reason to actually track and collect data, we don’t see the need and use for it.
What about the SemperFi Shop?
Closed for now.
Also, we got prompted to create this page: https://team-semperfi.com/privacy-policy/
