EA Play 2017 A quick recap

  • This website is currently getting updated on many fronts, some stuff may be broken.

EA Play 2017, the live stream event is done and it’s time to have a small recap shall we? One thing that stood out from EA as usual. Sports, sports, sports and a small bit of different things! Want to see the entire event? You can! Click here.

Well, since I personally am not a big fan of sports, let’s start with sports! And well, there’s not a whole lot to talk about honestly. EA is coming up with Fifa 18, Madden 18 and NBA 18. All titles aimed at the sports year… 2018 what a big surprise! It’s probably better just to give you the trailers!

On to the things that actually did catch our eye. EA is coming up with two new IP’s namely the games “A Way Out” and “Anthem”. While EA showed off a lot about the game “A Way Out” they only decided to show a teaser for “Anthem” as more will be shown on E3 2017. The new IP “A Way Out” is a co-op focused prison escape game. The game is a forced co-op game and can be played either in split-screen or online. You will play as one of the two prisoners trying to escape. Despite the forced co-op the title does look interesting and quite promising.

Another new title we saw during the show was Need for Speed: Payback. As you might recall the last Need for Speed (2016) looked good but.. the game felt a bit cringy. Especially the cutscenes felt off and just weird. This time however, EA has taken it a whole new direction. Did you like the first couple of “The Fast & The Furious” movies? If so then you’re in luck! Need for Speed: Payback all feels like that classic feeling. Fast cars, a dedicated story and chaos! This game will definitely pump some gas in your veins with great engine sounds, great graphics and awesome gameplay.

Now there are only 2 big ones left to talk about. Star Wars Battlefront II and Battlefield 1 “In the Name of the Tsar DLC”. First off the DLC for Battlefield 1. The DLC will be available this September and premium members will have, as usual, early access to the DLC. The DLC will contain 6 new maps, 3 new vehicles, a new game mode called supply drop and new dog tags plus medals. But most interesting part might be, the women’s battalion of death! Yes, women shall be introduced into BF1 multiplayer as part of the DLC. Keep your eyes peeled for more info!

And now onto the last, the sweetest bit of all and it’s probably best to stop talking and just show the epicness of Star Wars Battlefront II. All in all the game looks promising, beautiful and a case of “we’ve heard the community and listened to them”.
